It is a region of Thailand located on the Malay Peninsula flanked by the Gulf of Thailand on the east coast and the Andaman Sea on the west. It has a total area of 70,715.2 square kilometers. The length from north to south is approximately 750 kilometers. All provinces in the region have coastal areas except Yala and Phatthalung provinces.
